Can you guide me how to get my bank account approved over income tax portal for recieving my tax refunds . I have added my new SCB account 1 month back but it is not approved from bank side and customer care is clueless abou this process of authentication of bank account over income tax portal. My current HDFC Bank account is updated but I want to close it and replace it with new SCB account

For Income tax filing/ refund, you have to mention all your bank accounts(in the return itself) which were active for the year for which you are filing return. And you also have to mention a primary account. Primary account will receive the refund.... You cannot make/ update changes at your bank, It is Income tax department where you have to update.

No....... you can receive refund in any bank.
I have received refund in Yes Bank which is not listed above.

After filing return you can e-Verify through many banks.... as per below.

Yes, could be the list is old and not complete but I had registered for standard chartered bank account under prevalidate account section and it is approved but not EVC enabled. The moment I click evc enable tab it says evc option is not available for this bank. Then I called up helpline and they informed standard charted bank is not integrated with income tax department for receiving tax refund and asked me to refer the list of banks in help section.

This is wiered since I wanted to keep only SCB account and close my hdfc. Now I will have to keep it open
