How to change the channel on an Airtel Xstream router and troubleshoot internet slowdowns

Hi guys,
I’m facing intermediate issues where the internet slows down completely. All apps take time to load but the speed shows perfectly fine. When I researched deep into this, I found this could be issue of channel and I would have to select one with less interference but unfortunately Airtel has locked this option to automatic only on Nokia 2425G-A Router
Is there any chance of unlocking the router/changing channel settings?
 
In airtel app , there is option to optimise internet. It changes wifi channel automatically. But since some days this page is inaccessible by many users like me.
Call customer care to unlock this option.
Or you may unlock ONT yourself . But make sure you know how to restore internet after that.
 
Yes, I use that option, but I have to use optimise internet frequently since it doesn’t actually change my channel to a less interference one. I have to get this done every 2-4 days which is annoying. I’ll talk to airtel customer care to unlock the option if they can..
 
You're right then.
I don't have much radio interference around me but sometimes internet wouldn't only in my phone.
Ask for router replacement. which ONT do you have?
 
Do not ask for replacement. Unlock the ONT 😂. Nokia ONTs are better. Learn more about unlocking and how to restore internet after that too. You will need to backup settings as screenshots or .bin file
