Hi All,
I am new here and have been using BSNL Dataone for over an year now. I am still using Type 1 modem and wanted to move to a Type 2 wifi modem but my local exchange does not have one immediately available.
A friend of mine has sold me a BEETEL 440TXI ADSL2 Modem which he was using for his Airtel Connection. Can you guys help me on the configuration steps.
I am not sure if a thread on this topic is already available, if so, i would request you guyz to give me a link of the same.
Thanks in Advance.

Trust me pal, configuring this modem for BSNL Data One is a pain in the a**. I had used this modem earlier when i was with Airtel and was a piece of cake initially.
When i put it to use with BSNL after all the settings (VPI/VCI, Username-password, wireless mode), i had trouble opening hotmail, link-removed and many other websites. I did try changing the MTU values relentlessly, but it was of no avail.
BSNL customer support will not assist you with the configuration of this modem. Instead they will ask you to purchase/rent one of their not so good modems which is normally a UTStarcom branded one.
I advise you to purchase your own modem, either a Linksys or a Netgear which works very well with BSNL. I personally bought a Netgear DG834G for BSNL and have no issues so far.
