You will need a broadband router. You mention that your new house is wired. So maybe you don't need wireless.
Basically, your DSL will come in to the DSL modem, and then a LAN cable runs from the DSL modem to the broadband router's Internet (sometimes labeled WAN) port. Your home network would then be connected to the broadband router's internal ports (sometimes labeled LAN ports).
Now, your Internet provider will only see the router as if it were the computer connected to DSL.
It gets the Internet IP Address. The router, in turn, provides a set of private IP Addresses to the computers. Internet access is sort of \"passed through\" to the DSL and back to the computers, using something called NAT. both computers can use the connection at the same time this way.
The bandwidth is shared this way, but unless you're both users of streaming media, that's not likely to be all that bad.
