OLT is the equipment that goes on the other end of the fiber that plugs into your GPON router.
ALCL means it's made by Alcatel-Lucent aka Nokia.
These ALCL OLTs pose great challenges during VLAN translation because of which the VLAN becomes something else and it doesn't remain 100 for internet, say for example, in case of Airtel Xstream.

@tr1k0N4 How can one find out what OLT is being used for their Xstream Fiber connection?

In my case, the transition to XZ000-G7 was pretty seamless...

XZ000-G7 part
  • Copy GPON S/N from Airtel-provided ONT into the TP-Link WebGUI
  • Set VLAN ID to 100 and VLAN Pri to 0 (as was set in the Airtel ONT)
Router part
  • Set MAC address of the ethernet port to the MAC address of the Airtel ONT
  • Copy-paste the PPPoE username and password from the Airtel ONT WebGUI (192.168.1.1)
Done!
That's all I needed to do, IIRC...

connect PPPoE, check router logs, for PPP peer MAC address, then search the Mac on some maclookup website.
Okay I tried this, and the MAC seems to be associated with Juniper Networks.
I guess that means my OLT is from Juniper?
Is that correct?
