How to convert screen shot images to text???

I have some image files which are actually screenshots with mainly text? I want to convert them into a .doc format or any text format? Can anybody suggest a good software for it???

heh. free OCR software are generally hard to find... get the one you can find.

ABBYY FineReader - Professional OCR Software for Document and PDF Conversion Application is the one we used to use and it was pretty good at what it is supposed to do.

And this one i have found and another one is ReadIris ProWhich is one is better?? any idea......and on a 256 kbps they seem big files esp after being on 2mbps........

open the image in paint and save in tiff format.Then open the tiff file in microsoft office document imaging and then "read text thru ocr" Best results i have seen so far!

seems to work on simple documents. failed massively on complicated images for me.
