My PVC card has the full address so I think the early birds got the full address while it has been a recent change

Don't think so. I got my wife's PVC Aadhaar made just two months ago and that too has full address.
Actually no, Post office is mandatory field in Aadhaar. If you login to myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in to change your address, you will see Post office is pre-fetched as per your selection of Pincode and City. There is no way out of this Post Office.
Earlier when you got the address updated offline, you could avoid post office but now that is also blocked.

The first transaction always shows an error for me on the UIDAI website, even though it is actually successful.
Due to this issue, I ended up paying twice for an address change, resulting in double deductions from my account.
I have been facing challenges for the past month trying to resolve this. Phone support advised me to email [email protected], but my emails are never delivered.
I also raised the issue on Twitter, where a service request was created. However, the request was closed without any resolution, stating that the SRN I provided is incorrect.
