My Jio Fiber ONT suddenly became faulty. The 2.4 GHz band has become completely useless and even right next to the ONT it shows a very weak signal that doesn't work and doesn't allow me to connect to it. Everywhere only 5ghz is showing on devices.

I complained four days ago. The first engineer acknowledged the issue but refused to replace the router unless instructed by Jio. He tricked me into giving the service code and told me to keep the router off for hours before raising a new complaint. I did the same unplugged it for 10+ hours raised a complaint next day that router is not working (like he had said), got a call from him and he promised he would visit with the new device and replace but never came and next day he simply switched off his phone.

Another engineer later visited today with a new ONT box but Instead of fixing the fault, he told me i shouldn't have raised a complaint this way and he even started blaming me for changing the WiFi name from default Jio wifi name (the one with random numbers and letters! Wtf?) , argued unnecessarily, and treated me like I had no technical knowledge but I somehow stayed calm.
After wasting some time, he decided to reset the router. He literally warned me not to touch the WiFi settings, at this point I lost my calm and showed him his place with facts, the shameless guy left but put the complaint on hold, which got cancelled automatically after 1 hour.
The 2.4 GHz band started working for maybe 5 minutes and then suddenly became unusable ( also I literally followed his stupid advice of not renaming the wifi too).

It took me 30+ minutes to raise a new complaint through their customer support executive on call because their stupid app shows everything is working fine, therefore I can't raise it from there. Help me guys 😔

Call support, tell them you want to stop using the connection, just say you have no need for it anymore. Ask about security refund if any.

Support will transfer your call to a higher executive who will again ask why you wish to do so. Tell him/her the issue here.

edit: I suggest you think about what you will do if nothing changes on new ont because eventually they will replace it after countless complaints.

@DentXXX don't think this is a common issue. I have been using Jio Fiber for the past 4–5 years with the same ONT and have never had any problems. If the issue persists after the ONT replacement, I will probably switch to Airtel Fiber instead.. for now i hope commonsense prevails and they replace this faulty ONT asap. 😔

Mail them and mention that you want your router changed, write some good reasons in points.

You will receive a call and they should directly raise an "ONT change request" and it should reflect on your MyJio app.

Tell the person on call to raise only "ONT change request" and no other, otherwise you will be stuck in that loop again.

Engineer will directly come with a new ONT no questions asked.

Worked for me many times.

@x86_64 just checked in the app, they raised a complaint titled "SSID not visible"
Looks like tomorrow too, the service engineer will again waste my time.
Already mailed jio fiber support(JioFibercare at jio.com and prioritycare at jio.com) but got no reply from their side :/

@phoenix10386 mukesh (dot) ambani (at) ril (dot) com.

And yea, it does helps. Each time I complained, their response was like - "Inka complaint ekdam upar tak jaata hai" (His complaint goes to a very upper level). Sometimes even higher level employees have come to my house to show that they are actually going to fix the issue.

I did not expect it to be that! Same is with Airtel, you can email their CTO and things get done much faster.

Good to know there’s a recourse a customer has, by way of senior-level complaints and not “the usual” where they don’t much care.
