So far, so good! The wifi range feels better, and I feel like websites load slightly faster too (though it could be a placebo).
Everything feels like an upgrade but I hate that I can no longer separate the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands on this ONT.
You can seperate ssid just downgrade the ONT (At your own risk). It can't be done on latest firmware as hostapd codes are changed to merge ssid into a single bridge and display it.i haven't found any way to disable that bridge and then use wifi seperately unless I downgrade firmware.

@naitik1203 thanks man, but tbh it isn't that irritating, i think I can live with it. Not worth the hassle in my particular case.
Thanks for pointing this out, I might try this in future though!
@dvn880 one stop solution is filing a complaint on PG PORTAL rather than chasing goose with emailing company associates/ personnel. One PG PORTAL danda can work long way up their
@dvn880Hey I’ve faced this 2.4 GHz issue many times too I’ve changed my Jio router almost five times in the past six years. So here’s my advice. If the 2.4 GHz band isn’t working, directly tell customer care that you need it to work, or you’ll consider closing your connection. Don’t waste time explaining this to the service engineer they usually can’t take replacement decisions.
Also, always be polite with the engineers. They deal with a lot of pressure daily, and good behavior helps things move faster.
Still, be calm and talk respectfully with the engineers. They’re humans too and deal with a lot of customers daily. But if they start saying stupid stuff like “don’t rename your WiFi” or “keep the default random name,” just tell them I’m paying for this connection, so I’ll name my WiFi whatever I want.
And if they try to act smart or blame you, immediately raise a complaint against that engineer in Jio customer care. Don’t let them get away with it.
@raj17 I'm always respectful towards them, but the second engineer was something else. He not only blamed and argued with me, but even after I somehow got an ONT replacement request raised through several emails, he kept on getting assigned and putting it on hold for two days for no reason. It was only after I complained about this behavior of his through another email that I was assigned a new engineer, who came and replaced the ONT the same day he was assigned. (He told me there was a lot of pressure from his team head to close the complaint that day.) Still, I have nothing against him, but I can say he was truly a shameless guy.
The exact same issue happened to me with Airtel Xstream Fiber. My 3 year old NokiaONT conked off on 2.4 GHz and I was barely getting coverage out of it. It took them 15 days and multiple escalations to get them to change it. It got replaced with some Chinese junk but at least it works.
@sng_shivang Man it's crazy how, many people are now a days facing similar issues regarding 2.4 ghz band on these ONT's. Maybe these ONTs are intentionally being made to have a shorter life cycle because my almost a decade old D-Linkadsl modem hasn't failed yet.
