It's because his router and his phone is capable of two spatial streams on 2.4ghz wifi. If your phone is capable of 40mhz and only one spatial stream then the connection speed will be 144mbps.Sorry, should have mentioned this earlier. I meant to say Connection speed on my mobile for a 2.4 ghz shows 144 mbps whereas in your case it shows 300 mbps. Any idea what could be the reason for it? If something could be done, I could ask Airtel to get my router changed if its faulty.
I meant link speed. Like your client device(eg@AAK when you say connection speed are you saying the speed of the plan I am subscribed to? If yes, I am on 100 mbps plan.
For device, I use Archer C6 which mentions 300 mbps on box for 2.5 ghz. I know it's theoretical but if I can get somewhere close to it, I was wondering.
@Md Faraz Which Airtel plan are you on?
All mid end phone supports single band N 20mhz and dual band AC 40mhz while higher end support dual band N 40mhz and 80mhz AC.Sorry, should have mentioned this earlier. 40mbps... But It has nothing to do with the wifi link speed you get on your phone.. It depends on which phone you're using and whether it has supports 2x2 mimo wifi or not.
