how to install ubuntu 7.10

@krish_88: what size is the unallocated space? pick "manual" in the ubuntu installer partitioning section. then add one partition for "swap" maybe 1GB in size. add another partition of around 4 GB of type "ext3" and mount point to root "/" as i posted earlier in this thread :) i also asked vissu to make proper backups before installation which you should do too

@Vishalrao. I did use the Unallocated space for the installation. Well After the installation, The bootloader doesn't show ubuntu at all. It directly boots in Xp pro.
 
strange, i wonder if you have "virus protection" enabled in the bios which will prevent installation of a new boot record :)
 
No. I havent enabled any virus protection. Plus I have also tried Super Grub Boot disk. I tried to boot ubuntu. It says no partition found. When i try to boot my Xp through it. It says NTLDR missing. But my xp is running perfectly with no boot problems at all.
