So, airtel launched FTTH in my town last month, and I was the 1st customer to get a connection because I was following their box placement throughout my town since Dec. 2024. I got the connection on Jan 14 2025, and found the usual locked ONT and subnet and everything. I was given a Public dynamic IP on that day. A week later, that IP was switched to CGNAT address. I anticipated this, so I got hold of the 'technical lead' of my area and explained everything to him. He said he has no access to change it, and that I should mail to 121. I mailed them, and after a series of phonecalls, they kept denying the possibility of reversing CGNAT to public dynamic IP.
But, I have seen some customers get it back and keep using public dynamic IP still. I then shot off a mail to the appellate and nodal teams regarding the same.
Fellow airtel customers, have any of you got back public dynamic IP after fighting with the technical support? Please give some guidance as to what should I ask them and how can I stop them from pushing me to buy static IP!
