How to set IDEA mobile internet on Ubuntu 8.10

Hi,Im trying to get internet through a Nokia phone in ubuntu 8.10 (using a idea sim). I have set the phone up and wvdialer.conf but still I cant surf - it will dial and connect even the E sign comes on the phone display. Has anybody managed to set of Idea with linux? Thank you

I think you need to set the Baud rate manually and then try connecting,
you would certainly need to save the DS settings before it works.

If you wish to upgrade ubuntu-9.04-for desktop is available now which solved many bugs.

allangering OP is not able to connect, this doesn't exactly relates to the bug you've mentioned.
