No, it should not ask for such details. user id,password,profile password these three should work for u though I don't know whether they introduced this stupidity recently

Now a new card number is reflecting in internet banking but card hasn't reached to me yet. Fingers crossed
Congratz when did u apply for card? I did on 4th this month.
See, now that I have got Passbook, Welcome Kit containing chequebook, debit card, Internet Banking, so I don't need to go to branch ever again, atleast for 2-3 years, considering the fact that I can transfer funds instantly whenever I need it from my dad's account through IMPS. And I can do PPF payments through Net Banking too for a secure future 
Yes SBI internet banking is almost a small SBI branch. The best thing they regularly update new features. Last time I visited branch was dec. 14 to furnish AADHAR details for LPG subsidy. I even don't bother to update my passbook but I always download last 6month account statement for my personal record.

@Saurabh Srivastava hey friend i wanted to ask you about sbi debit card. actually i lost my previous card so i blocked that card and applied for a new card through net banking. i have applied on 16 march 2017 eve. a success message was also displayed on screen. same problem as you. no any idea that when i will get my card. i checked in net banking no any new card is reflecting there. customer care was also clueless. i wanted to ask you how many days after applying you got the card. can you please tell me exactly
@Abhishek kumar6758 It took around 15 days to reflect new card and next 15days to get my card delivered so it was a headache of around one month. Experience was very awful, no proper communication, not even a single acknowledgement text or email from the bank. Branch manager was clueless as always. I would suggest you to keep checking e-services>ATM card services on onlinesbi. Moreover you can contact SBI on Twitter but don't expect any help from them.
