I have BSNL connection which is fibre cable connection and the network people told that it cannot be used with D-Link 2730 u. So they installed an ordinary modem fit for their network(AONT 100c). Is it possible to connect AONT 100c and use Dlink 2730 U only as wifi router. If yes, how?
I'm not sure about it but I guess a couple of hit and trial could get it working. Is your Pc getting the lan ip address something like 192.168.1.x then yes it can easily be done. Just hook the ethernet cable into the dsl 2730u lan port and delete all the wan interface from the advance configuration menu of the router. The configuration should be like this 192.168.1.1 as main Ont, 192.168.1.2 as the 2730u and 192.168.1.x are the rest of the clients eg phone and laptop. This is just an example. Can suggest more once you elaborate a bit more about your current configuration.
