How WiFi signal strength effect internet speed?

I have few things to askSo we usually see 150mbps and 300mbps router . How both are different from each otherDoes it effect range ? Does it effect speed as i dont even get 1Mbps from ISP ..........................................................................................................................................................................How wifi signal strength effect internet speed Imagine i have wireless N router 300Mbps and Internet connection of 1Mbps and getting only 60% signal strength . Does it mean i will get 60% of 300mbps or 1mbps or both ?

As the signal decreases, there can be a chance for packet loss and the actual router speed decreases
