Inside the Desire 820, you'll find the first application of the
Snapdragon 615,
Qualcomm's middle-of-the-road 64-bit processor. HTC isn't saying what the clock speed is, but the standard implementation is an octa-core 1.8Ghz chip paired to an Adreno 405 GPU. (Note:
Android won't actually support 64-bit processing until version L, so the Desire 820 will run in 32-bit mode until its KitKat software is upgraded.) HTC revealed the Desire 510 with a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 last month. Other specs include a 5.5" HD (read: 720p) screen, a 13MP rear camera, a surprisingly high-definition 8MP front-facing camera (for selfies, donchaknow), and Category 4 LTE. Some regions will also get a dual-SIM variant.
