They are now going to see which device sells more units. HTC First (last checked it was on sale for 99 cents with two year contract) or HTC One with Google Experience (USD 599+taxes no contract).
that's the problem with putting a plain vanilla android on non-nexus devices. as one would have to compromise on a lot of features and still pay the full amount be it s4 or htc one.
That's why a nexus 5 is needed or a phone which is made exclusively for the vanilla android and all it's features should work with it
Google is not going to add special features for just one device in stock Android. Google can easily add IR support in Android 4.3. As for cameras and beat... They are proprietary technologies. If they are indeed open, shame on HTC on not contributing it back to Android.
