They tried to con me!!As u might have read, the guy with applicationforms came to my houseI signed the forms and agreed with the conditionsToday, in the afternoon i received a call from teh same guy who came to my houseHe said:" We have a problem, Since you are a foreigner you are required to pay the sum of rs10000 as a deposit"I was like: WHAT THE FCUK!!!??? why didnt you tell me this when u were at my placeHe said he missed out on that partAs far as i know, this is high important information and since i am and i LOOK like a foreigner, i found it very odd he left it outSo , i asked him to give me the number of his manager... he did not give this, but he said he would call him and call me back afterwardsMeanwhile , i called twice the Airtel Broadband CC and they said: " No sir, this is not true, 1000rs is the deposit and thats it" They wanted to know the name of this guy cuz it was a lie, and this was not a policy etc etc,... unfortunately i have a bad memory when it comes to Indian names... so i couldnt give this guys name After the call to Airtell CC I waited for the conman to call and he did , and suddenly he told me i was working for Oracle and bcuz of that i did not have to pay this amount of money.......................... how strange!!I havent even received a single datapacket from Airtel Internet or even smelled the connection and i am already having serious doubts...Whats wrong with these people here man :angry:

neh. do not worry. just have the customer support phone number handy coz the local guys are practically scared of the customer support people. one complaint to them causes financial loss to the local guys.

I am not worried, i am just angry with these people who think they can do this just like that

And..this guy was some Airtel Representative, not just a little boy who runs around for 50 bucks a day ( i think )

I find it somewere a bit sad that he eventually said i did not have to pay cuz.. i am such a nasty basterd when it comes to these situations ,
It reminds me of my ABN Amro Gold Card....
I applied for it and they said: 3 days sir.... on the 5th day i received it, 2 days later than they promised.... and with the help of 5 minutes nonsense about these 2 days delay i managed to get it for free (rs 2000 is membership fee )

Anyway,,,,,, i go to airtel office, some big one and demand a manager and with my white skin i can manage alot of shit , even more bcuz i am already a reliable customer with my fone and good for at least rs5000 phoencharges a month

But... he was wise and i litterally todl him after telling me the Oracle thing: "You just saved your ass cuz i was about to ask your name and report you"


Anyway, he came to office, picked up proof that i work for this company and left
Saturday morning they come and install it ( they say, but 4 years India-experience tells me that it also can be next saturday )

Welcome to India. Here's how it works, they see you are a foreigner they try their tricks, if you stand your ground they back off. Dont worry too much about this it happens to indians even , once the locals figure out you cant understand the dialect. Of course these people are idiots.

I think most ppl that are used to more efficiency have the same reaction. Once you live here for some time you get used to it as its a waste fo energy. This leads to the sad situation where everyone grumbles silently in their corner, but nothing gets done and things just stay the same. For some reason i think they are afraid of making enemies as they are locals. This means the foreigners or those from out of state are the ideal ppl to do the yelling, you got no come-back

If more people stood up this would get fixed. It wil come.
