hi athul....what's the purpose(main purpose...)

gaming, just browsing or install all softwares.....?

if you are a gamer i suggest you a good config

in meantime, what's your budget...

not gaming, to use internet and DOWNLOADS....... (suggest that support my old INTEL PENTIUM D 2.8GHZ, 2x1gb DDR2, SATA 500gb)

i own another 1 for gaming with core2duo and 512mb graphic card.

Friend, I will suggest you to go for hi-end machines, old peripherals costing more now a days. for example DDR2 ram is expensive then DDR3, IDE hdd is expensive then Sata + u will get all the old stuff for some good amount now but in future if you want to update ( eventually we have to update to keep up with new things ) you will not able to upgrade all these parts. So my suggestion is go for latest config. Rest is upto you. since ur topic is about buying new cabinet and motherboard...Get i-ball or VIP cabinet and get any mother board of intel chipset ( its costs from 1,200 to 2,500 ) you can check intel motherboards online for best supporting and available match which suits ur requirements.

Intel has moved 5 generations since your model and your socket is not in production. Im assuming its a 775 socket. Luckily an LGA 775 mobo shouldnt be hard to find.

http://deltapage.com/ for the prices and specs.

I noticed a VFM sunbeamtech cabinet for only 1500/- and it even had 5 fans. Try to find one. Or else just choose one according to your taste.

thanks for the info friends.....

i think better going for new board and processor.
