We get water from the government supply, so the TDS levels are pretty alright.

Instead of getting an RO purifier, I am thinking of getting a UF and UV water filter.

Any recommendations?

I have been using Livpure RO for more than a year. No issues till now. I also have borewell water with the same TDS.

@Tejas01 Livpure zinger copper hot looks like a good option for me. How much waste water does your ro generate?

@ishanjain28 I haven't measured it. Since my water usage is less, I don't keep it switched on. Occassionally, I will switch it on to refill the tank.

Aren't RO known for wasting water? I do put a mini bucket and throw it in the washroom instead of wasting water from the washroom.

Looking to buy another purifier. Shortlisted this Havells steel tank Amazon.in

During research lost 2000 off discount on the purifier, again waiting for that offer.

Municipal water is only 135 tds but when tank is filled water moves and dust settled at bottom of tank starts moving and tds becomes 250 temporarily. Also duining rainy season source water TDS can increase a lot or if someone incorrectly punctured the main pipe or something else.

So tds levls fluctuates and i am more concerned if it contains heavy metals, viruses and stuff. Everyone says to buy UF+UV or RO if tds lvls is X.

Is it possible to know if low tds is actually clean and drinkable after basic UF filtration?

RO will bring down the TDS down a lot and want to avoid that if possible. One solution could be storing drinking water in jug and adding lemon/cucumber/few flakes of salt or something.

Ro filters have the option to adjust the TDS. So you can ask them to set it to the desired level. Atleast mine does. I am using Livpure.
