I want to buy MacBook Air M1 but have some doubts need help.

I am thinking of buying M1 MacBook Air but one thing that stopping me from buying this one is what will happen after 1 year if it becomes faulty. I know Apple care plus but it is too expensive I can not spend extra money other than the laptop. Currently I am using iPad6th gen bought in 2019 it is working like the day 1 I bought it till now. I haven’t faced a single problem on this, battery backup is still like new 12hrs. So can you suggest me what shall I do? Are these machines not reliable?

Apple makes a huge profit margin on all their products. I personally don't see it as a good deal. That being said, I am typing this on a Mac that I bought back from my employer very cheaply. I'd go for a more affordable, powerful computer. If you are a gamer, linux supports a ton of games thanks to Valve's efforts in the area. I don't mean to deter you from your wish to purchase a Mac. If you trust Apple enough, and your gut then go for it!

In terms of reliability, I cannot comment on the ones equipped with the new M1 chip, as I have a 2015 version. But mine has served me well for 4+ years.

P.S: Read reviews if you are unsure. It might bring you confidence before you purchase.

Apple machines are costly anywhere in the world, and are laughably costly in India. Can get a second-hand 4-wheeler in India for the price of their cheapest MacBook Air.

That said, your machine, if kept with adequate love, should see years of service without issue. Generally, electronics either go bad in the first few months or not for a long time, clean voltage is a given.

What are you going to be using the computer for? You might be able to do with a laptop around 45-55,000 bracket instead of going all-in on an Apple computer.

M1 chipset is incredibly powerful, and is game-changing, but for certain uses. It is not going to help AT ALL over an Intel chip if you are into spreadsheets and documents, some designing, YouTube and such.

However, if you are into designing for a living all day, creating graphics, working on image files, etc. then the battery life and performance of that M1 chip will leave you very, very happy. It is simply about choosing a machine that suits your need more.

Thank you for your reply I am going to use it mainly for study purposes and occasional photo or video editing not regular. I know there are many laptops under 60k which will be perfect for my use but none of them has a good quality screen or build quality visited reliance digital many times seen multiple laptops but none were appealing to me. I want a good quality colour accurate screen and build sadly none comes in this range except mi or realme laptops. So can’t decide what to do.

I would personally suggest against it if you don't see the value proposition and if you feel too worried about breaking it. It's an obvious thing that you have to be extra careful while using this machine, just like any other. Avoid eating or drinking around it. Keep it safe and secure (carry it in good quality laptop bags, sleeves etc). Consider your history with gadgets before investing in something like this. Also, check out the reviews on YouTube. People have shared useful insights and experiences.

@Samuel hello I bought th MacBook Air on 3 march and yesterday I noticed that while charging if I move my finger on the body I feel like slight vibration or tingling can you tell me if you have the same issue. If possible place a socket near you so that you can turn off and on the charger to see a difference while moving your finger.

@supukabi not related to MacBook specifically but I had similar issues with metal body of OnePlus phone and Customer Service told me that its normal.
