I was wondering, how do people in this forum manage their phones battery health?

I Recently upgraded from my five year old iPhone 11 to an iPhone 15 plus

On my previous iPhone 11, the battery health degraded below 80% after 2.5 years of use

Then, in January 2023 I got the battery replaced from an offline local store

By October 2024 the battery life of that phone fell below 80 and was giving only about 4 hours screen on time

I read on Apple’s website that a typical iPhone should have 800 charge cycles before dropping below 80% in battery health

On iPhones, later than iPhone 15
Apple has given an option to set the charging limit to 5 different settings
80%
85%
90%
95%
100%

I have personally not used any of these on the new device

And I am trying to make the most out of each battery cycle per day

So, I charge my phone overnight and keep using for the whole day and only at night, I would charge it back

I charge my phone with a 65 W PD adapter and a PD cable since iPhone 15+ supports USB C

While charging,i make sure to remove my phones case and charge it in a cool environment

I was thinking, how do you guys manage battery health on your phone?

As someone like me, who doesn’t like changing phones, every year or so and I want to retain 80% health for at least three years

I don't care much about battery health, my phones (minus Yureka Plus) worked without issues for years.

I cannot say about how much battery health each of them had, but most worked with just one time charge if I am not using them heavily for a day.

The only one where I kept my eye on battery health was my iPhone XR. I used to play PUBGM on it, quite a lot. After like three years, it had like 78% battery health but still worked fine for a day without gaming, though gaming battery life decreased a lot. It is at 72% now and I don't play anything on it, I charge it once in a week and use it only for calls or banking apps (my main number is there). 😂

I currently use realme GT Neo 3T and its battery life is still decent. Lasts me till the end of the day with like 8-9 hrs SOT after 2 yrs.

You can keep your battery percentage between 40-80% for decent battery life, but I feel like replacing battery after some years is better than using the phone at any limit.

No no i have disabled 5G and she’s home most of the time

Software updates might be the issue

@Kyle Crane Not sure, I always had decent battery life in every update. She might be playing games like Candy Crush. I mostly just use Brave, Reddit, YouTube and some other video streaming apps.

Oh and I have debloated most of the apps too. I do it as soon as I or my bro get any phone, so that could also be the reason. I have no idea how was battery life without those bloats.

Nice

Also Realme did limit the charging speed after giving updates

Earlier it used to charge with the full 80 W charger but now it charges at 35-40W only

If I download to android, 12 then it charges at 80W again

I have no clue about power values, I don't have anything to measure that, but my phone does charge within 30-40 minutes from 5%. I keep it at a cold area though.

I am on latest version 14.0.0.1310.
