ICICI Bank Idiocy: No paper statement for existing customers. Require paper statements from new cust

At least the good thing is that you can get a Pass Book which should work fine for address proof. I think. Time to go to ICICI Bank and get for my account!

its the same with all banks now , except for SBI i dont think any other bank gives passbook
for physical statement we have to make a request at bank !!
these things make me think whether services are for us or we are serving them !!

A lot of private banks including ICICI give passbooks these days. My problem with ICICI is specific that they are no longer giving paper statements to consumers who have their email address registered with the company. So basically, if you want internet banking or email alerts, you just cannot get paper statements from the bank anymore. As for getting physical statements from the bank. I would personally not mind if it is free. But most of these banks charge more than 100 rupees PLUS service tax per page.

ICICI bank in my town doesnt give passbook even after request [ may be need to check with them again now ], said they can send statements if necessary
with HSBC the physical statements are free , i have taken statements only from them for a loan !!

Issue of pass book Nil on request at base branch where account is maintained.Issue of duplicate pass book Rs 100 for issuance and Rs 25 per page for updationCommon Service Charges- ICICI Bank LtdI find it insane that these banks are allowed to charge such a premium for letting you access your own records from their database. At least ICICI has a decent backend providing access to years worth of data.Just wrote a paper application to apply for a pass book I have written 2-3 applications already this year.Freaking financial institutions are taking back to the 80s with these new policies.

Hdfc has stopped physical statements altogether and shifted back to passbook. Received the same a few days back by post with the note.
