IDC: Samsung still dominates Indian smartphone market

Samsung dominates Indian smartphone market with 24 percent share in Q3 2014 | SamMobile

According to the latest IDC report, Samsung ended the third quarter of 2014 with a 24 percent market share in India, though local manufacturer Micromax encroached on the Korean manufacturer’s share by capturing 20 percent of the market. Samsung and Micromax were followed by two other local manufacturers, Karbonn and Lava.

Last year any xyz guy having smartphone in his hand would be having Samsung.
But this year many people are seen with Sony, LG and even Micromax. Surprisingly in my society many people have Micromax phones as secondary handset for FB/Whatsapp purpose, and most of them know that Micromax phones have less life, but they would not feel bad if phone is damaged, as they can simply buy another Micormax phone
