Idea Cellular starts operator billing service for Microsoft Windows phones | The Financial Express

Idea Cellular along with Microsoft on Monday introduced operator billing for the Windows Store for Idea subscribers. With this option in place subscribers will no longer need credit cards or other electronic payment options to purchase paid content.

I thought Microsoft already supported all major Indian operators? Good to know! This is where Google fails miserably.

I thought Google had similar deal with Reliance once, by which app purchases was billed with mobile bill or used prepaid amount to purchase app from Google Play Store.
BTW I remember Nokia had similar agreement with few operators for its Symbian Nokia Store.

Yup. Nokia already had deals with Reliance and a few other operators so I always assumed that it was the same with Lumia apps.

I wonder if Microsoft is accepting Bitcoin in India. They are doing it internationally.

Hopefully this move by MS pushes Google to bring it sooner if it is on their roadmap. :/
