IDM lifetime license worth it?

using IDM to download youtube videos was really helpful to me since i didn't need to go to a random yt downloader to get my video ,i was thinking to maybe purchase the lifetime license but im worried since it says they would provide update only for 3 years and then i would need to take a subscription just for updates

so has anyone tried IDM lifetime license?

I have been using one since 2017 and its absolutely worth it. I dont download YT videos much, its primary usage is downloading stuff from high seas.

yt-dlp is indeed a great choice and for general download AB Download manager is good in free alternatives. i recently removed IDM from my pc because reconstruction of download was taking more time.
