increase internet speed in ubuntu 13.04

i recently install Ubuntu 13.04 and its working fine..but the internet speed is slow as compared to windows 7..why is it so?? any trick to increase speed in ubuntu 13.04

How can you tell speed is slow? Speedtest tests?

yaa its taking more time to load the page....

have you tried downloading something? web page rendering does not always show the actual speed of the connection.

yes softwares from Ubuntu software center there its give a proper downloading speed....

Make sure your video drivers are updated. From what I remember, browsing feels like ultra slow when you are not using proper video drivers.

yaa i feel same also...becoz switching between two application giving a blur or something slow transform effect

Ubuntu usually detects your graphic card and advice you to install the appropriate proprietary driver for it. Look for it.
