Government to sniff your emails

Sources have told DNA that this internet monitoring has been "more or less" accomplished with the top five internet service providers in the country. Every email, chat or data transfer across India can be tracked and, if needed, read in this fashion.
"The tracking is done using a technology called deep packet inspection (see box). This is an expensive technology which requires hardware costing a couple of crore rupees. Installing the hardware at all of the 150-odd ISPs in the country was a very expensive idea," the official said.

Just look how they are openly setting up tyranny.Openly stating we dont give a damm about the fundamental rights or the constitution.

for those who think the govt dosent have the resources to snoop all email in real time think again.

Use HTTPS or Pidgin with those encryption plugins. :D

Funny how these guys have money to spend on invading privacy rather than better their services.

LOL, if you think with tor u are safe, then u need to think again.

Read weaknesses section here again:
Tor (anonymity network) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Whatever Government can do, Tor can do it even more easily (even if they claim they wont). Atleast with current internet Government has to pass laws and then actually sign up with ISPs.

But incase of Tor, u on your own are passing all data to Tor :D

If you read further, Tor also has Bandwidth hogging problems, and Bittorrent basic ports are also blocked. Ofcourse there are workarounds but then my point is whatever Government does right now, Tor will have to do too if there are many users shifting to Tor.

Bittorrent ports are blocked because Tor is meant only for browsing

TPB's ipredator service
ipredator aims to be completely anonymous and log free though not monetarily free

how does this work, do they have keyword searching or do they read all the e-mails, the latter seems impossible. I am not comfortable with keyword based search either, but better to have that,if it prevents any terrorist attack. Common people hardly have any choice :madness:, either have the government snoop around private e-mails or risk giving the terrorist an edge. :(

they also have keyword search but this is different. They are collecting all emails, web sites log, comms without our consent and not only that isp's are working with them. The same thing is happening in USA but they are releasing info which is making the courts rule that as there is nor tangible evidence so no prosecution and not only that the us congress passed a law giving retroactive immunity to the phone providers shielding them from lawsuits.this is not for terrorism.it is for a police state.Indian media is worse than Chinese media. No news about this nor any condemnation
