pricing is still hilarious in some cases. apoorv highlighted on twitter one good example. Dil Chahta Hai... the audio cd and the movie DVD are both cheaper to purchase than complete MP3 album of the songs of the movie. very annoying scenario.

As i said prev , Unlike in hollywood , here music is bundled along with the movie , so its a win-win situation for the producer , thats why imo , for all these years they have been quiet . Now some "powers" are trying to consolidate the "spread the culture" mentality into "Make it into money". Anyone from outside will rage , seeing the enormity of music and how it can be capitalized further , or to put it blankly , increase the profit for the recording labels ,as what they have been doing all around the world.Even today , A.R , Harris , Yuvans music albums sell like hot cake. If not for the music directors , then its for actors , or even for the directors. This stupid idea of strapping all the good ways of spreading good music is only going to backfire with slumped sales. If not piracy , I would have not have heard good songs from hindi , malayalam , telugu . Growing fan base is what these moronic IMI should be doing . Expose the entire nation with wide variety of songs and art. India is well known and is a treasure-trove , and we are the ones who will readily spread our culture across the globe. anyway those who want to get it , will still get and spread it with " USB PENDRIVE" , good luck IMI stopping that.

Selling songs should be about convenience. Take a lesson from Apple. Unless flipkart comes up with a simple, user friendly app for iOS/android/symbian, i don't see many jumping ship.Also, for every mp3 website banned, there will be 5 new ones. Its a cat and mouse game that will go on and on.

What do the OP's above mentioned sites do ?

..put stuff up and allow anyone & everyone to download from them with a browser. These are the first to go usually. This is what happened in the west ten years ago. Soon after came the lawsuits against individuals using file sharing apps like shareaza, limewire etc. Then they tried to move in on torrnet sites but there are so many that whenever you kill one another ten come back. OiNK was the most famous one but nobody got busted from there, even the owner was relaeased after they could not convict him.

That should give you an idea of where we are as far as copyrights enforcement is concerned.
