The tv card was having a hard time with the audio on my upgradation of the computer and simultaneous move to 7.
Timeshift produced sound with a bad echo effect, recording produced the same effect. Muting did not work.
I had practically given up on it but in an unrelated event, i decided to downgrade my user account to standard user (protection from virus infections), and to my surprise it started working flawlessly again (timeshifting, recording, everything).
So for those having a hard time with getting it to work with Realtek HD audio card (or windows 7 maybe? or vista..), just install the tv card's supplied software with your account as administrator (default) and then after installation demote your account to limited user (take care to create another admin account first; instructions here Configuring Windows 7 for a Limited User Account), if you want to use the remote with the card. Else there is no need to install as administrator.
The issues faced are not driver related at all.
So another plus of running as limited user..
Haven't checked for issues on windows xp though.
Peace! :cool2:
