My speed has dropped from 2mbps back to the original plan speed of 1mbps and I have downloaded only about 10GB from the start of the billing cycle. WTF ? :frown:

I do not know about the fooling part. However, I have come across a good number of Airtel BB subscribers who hold on to the following notion "hey we are getting double speeds for free, why crib about it?"

Sad plight of affairs, as of now.

Congratulations, you've been FUPPED. Airtel Fair Usage Policies are discussed at great length here on IBF. @admin and I have been writing about it for the ToI tonight.

Yeah, they get it for the first few GB, then it's back to 256kbit/s. So they kinda are, since they had implied that their minimum speed would be 512kbit/s in their press releases. New FUPs have actually adversely affected customers monthly download capacity in many cases.

FOOLED AND FUPPED.

As per the confirmation email they sent after the speed double the Fair Usage Policy limit is 30GB

Even in the last billing cycle I did not exceed 30GB and now I am on the twelth day in the new billing cycle.

Got FUPped today morning for crossing 10GB on 1mbps (un)limited plan. Called CC n they told me that FUP limit on my plan is 10GB. So.... disconnected my Airtel connection :)They are really fooling the people, saying that TRAI has imposed a limit on all broadband plans. I replied him that there is no such directive form TRAI and asked him to show the proof. He remained silent.

That's an outright lie. In future, ALWAYS record the phone call, get the persons full name, and then you can totally take them to task about it. If you had evidence, I'd suggest you write to the TRAI that Airtel is portraying their directives in a negative light.

Airtel has still not fooled me in any way. The day they fool me will be the last day of business with Airtel broadband. I suggest everyone to kick Airtel out of their lives the day Airtel starts fooling them. :|

Was getting 1 mbps download in the day and 2 mbps in night for the last two weeks. speeds are back to original 512 kbps/day and 1 mbps/night and I have downloaded only 14 gb yet. Are you guys sure the limit is 30 GB?

Now the speed is back to 2mbps without even me complaining to Airtel.I am guessing Airtel's strategy is to 'oversell' by claiming they are doubling the speed for free. Not a bad idea but they should be transparent about it instead trying to fool us.

@ genieHave you recieved any message or been redirected to a page mentioning that you have crossed 'x' amount of your FUP limit?Has anyone on the 1699 unlimited plan actually suffered a speed reduction?
