Well, porting seems to be as equal as going to a store and buying a phone. But yeah I get it, if there are complications in Aadhar verification during porting then yeah.

we are talking about situation where he would have to learn to replace sims, reconfigure all financial apps if he is using them and more. and if shop owner made any mistake, he would have to run around to get it fixed. dealing with a new company. learning a new app to make payments assuming he is using airtel thanks for his airtel prepaid sims and so on. i deal with multiple folks above 70 routinely in my family and i have seen how tiny things become a major hassle technology wise. my dad still struggle with the new shitfest PhonePe user interface which was overhauled and makes no sense to someone like him. even the new indusind bank app has made things super confusing for him. he has to call me to do basic stuff which he was able to do all by himself on the previous app.

Right, Make sense. And well , its not just 70s, I have relatives in 50s & 60s struggling with tech (or just plain scared that they will end up screwing something up)
