is DISH TV most expensive DTH in india????

It was felt from a long time that by enterance of Big names like BIG, SUN, Airtel DTh scenario is gonna change, but i feel the situtation has worstened or just DISHTV is hyping the scene.Right Now just comparing the packages i feel DISH TV is most expensive DTH in the Country.Please correct me if i am wrong smwhere.DISH TV (Cost per month) CHILD MAXI / PLATINUM - 337 / 309 174 = 511 / 483(All this is without Star One on the Platinum package and lot of ther channels missing in the child connection)Tata Sky SUPERSAVER - 260+45(Lifestyle Gold) 125 = 425( you get all channels as in the parent connection, nothing is dropped)BIG TVPAN INDIA 290 145 = 435Adding service tax is ok , but raising the child connection charges is pretty bad.I dont knw whether TS will follow DIsh in upgrading its child connection charges(As it did not the previos time when Dish raised it from Rs 125 to Rs 150pm) but as of now seems TS is cheapest choice, hope TRAI looks into this as we all DIsh customer are getting lured to go for a new TS connection.

Well dear,

First get all your data right. in the current scenario dishtv is the most economical among all DTH.

Please correct me if i am wrong smwhere.

CHILD
MAXI / PLATINUM - 337 / 309 174 = 511 / 483

(All this is without Star One on the Platinum package and lot of ther channels missing in the child connection)

Agreed on total cost of Parent and child pack.

Tata Sky
SUPERSAVER - 260+45(Lifestyle Gold) 125 = 425
( you get all channels as in the parent connection, nothing is dropped)

All sports channels have been dropped here if you add only ESS channels then your cost would go up by Rs.425 + 65= 490/- + 15(Tensports)= Rs. 505/-. And lots of channels have been dropped as compared with dishtv.

BIG TV
PAN INDIA 290 145 = 435

Bigtv Pan India is Rs.300+ 145= Rs.435 + tax (12.36%) = 489/- and also missed many channels


Adding service tax is ok , but raising the child connection charges is pretty bad.

Well only Tax has been implemented to child connections.

I dont knw whether TS will follow DIsh in upgrading its child connection charges(As it did not the previos time when Dish raised it from Rs 125 to Rs 150pm) but as of now seems TS is cheapest choice, hope TRAI looks into this as we all DIsh customer are getting lured to go for a new TS connection.

After my comments in blue what do you think which is more economical.
Dish = 483/-
Tata sky= 505/-
Big tv = 489/-

This is when child connection is included other wise dishtv is much more economical.

Well, better to opt for selected channels and go for the same, next month onwards i will be going for the silver pack along with star package, which works out cheaper and get most of the channels my parents watch

Dear SaurabhPlease look into this Child Connection chargesTS -125 ( All Incl)Dish Tv -174 (all Incl)Big Tv -125 (or 50% of Parent Pack Cost) All InclDISHTV is the only DTH player which is charging 12.36% ST extra, rest all are absorbing the cost.DISHTV is the only DTH player which discrimantes its Child Connection ( by reducing the no of channel)I m just saying DISHTV has gone expensive not by one side but also by reducing the no of channels for its child connection.Im not comparing no of excluive channels each DTH operatr is offering , if DISH has exclusive Zee movie channels, DISH has UTV movie boquet.Overall my monthly expenditure for 2 tv's gone up from Rs 425, 511+17 (for Colors) in DISHTV.Hope its time for DISHTV to have a second thought for the child connection charges.

Why are you not seeing that zee dth is giving channels like TCM ,MGM, Boomerang and Radio channels? Comparitively it is cheapest that Tata Sky . I have only heard that Tata sky and Dish TV only give good customer service.I am very happy with Dish. I just switched from Tata sky and thought I might have done ages ago. I only like FM Gold, FM Rainbow and BBC entertaintment for Doctor who. Now even that is available on Internet.:dance::yahoo:

i am Totally agree with u . U r 100% Correct .Dishtv is totally costly for those who hv Child connection. when i got Child Connection It Costs Rs100 /m Incl All chan. but Their Price is increasd To Rs174 Without ESS,tcm,mgm,bomerang Dish Cheated With Multi tv user
