Is Huawei banned by US and Google(Android)

I have seen in the news that Google has banned Huawei from getting and using Android . Has this been relaxed ?

I have a Honor 6X(2016) and its Android updates have been taken down recently in January 2021(I should have updated it earlier). They have a request to update policy(How weird is that) . Now the company says Due to Bugs in the firmware , the Update has been taken down. The Huawei website direct link has also been deleted. It has Android 7 , when upgraded will give 8 , so just wanted to do that

How should I proceed and what is the news ?

Existing devices with google play services would continue to support google services. And Huawei is allowed to deliver updates if they want to. They even launched some models with same names with minor improvements with Google Services exploiting some loophole iirc.
