Is My Airtel app pushing popup banner ads to promote Airtel TV on your Android Smartphone?

This has happened a few times in the recent weeks. Happens randomly. Popup comes out of nowhere. Always for an Airtel app. Managed to capture it for the first time. Screenshots below.

I can only imagine that My Airtel app is doing it. Anyone else has received this kind of ad on their phones?

i do not even have airtel tv app installed. so it is definitely that.

Yeah I just saw that in a reply... For now, our best bet is to opt out from Google's personalized ads. Do that by going into the settings, then Google settings (could be a separate app installed by the same name), then turn off ad personalization by selecting Opt out of Ads Personalization in Ads under the Services tab. It will open a web page and you have to do the same thing, i.e. opt out. It show a link for adchoices; open that too and opt out from ads from participating companies (138 in my case). Let it complete and try again and again to bring it down to as close as 0.

Also, since these ads are being routed through Google, I'd suggest searching for a solution on a different search engine, like DuckduckGo. You'll be shocked to see how much Google manipulates search results.

I am on BSNL, though. I see something in Airtel TV settings...

I don't know what Power Play is. I am going to disable it now.

I had turned off notifications for both the apps i.e. my airtel and airtel tv but still I got one ad through airtel tv. Also, there's no visible permission for screen overlay granted to any of them.
Also, they weren't even being used.
Still, I suggest tuning off background data for the apps.

2 years old thread, and this issue still exists.
I have Samsung A8+ and occasionally I seen some popup for very short moment on "Phone" app. It disappeared before I could take screenshot.
But yesterday I managed and checked screenshot image online, and it belonged to Airtel's new service of recharge another number.

Airtel app is not allowed to run in background, and also all notifications for this app is disabled, still I wonder how this popup is displayed.

BTW I use JIO and Idea sim, and Airtel app is for managing DTH service.
