@Protector, I submitted a request for a static IP, and today I received a call from an engineer. He mentioned that they couldn't provide the option to choose an IP from previous addresses. However, the good news is that they assigned me an IP starting from 122.x.x.x. I checked the location, and it showed my correct location, it will be updated after few hours. Also, today my IP changed, and I received an IP that shows a Mumbai location, which also starts with 122.x.x.x. Furthermore, I received a bandwidth sharing job on that IP.
@mAstic sorry about the late reply, It's not like choosing a custom mobile #.
The NOC will give you an IP from a pool of addresses available from those assigned to them. They MAY...note the "may", give you an option but then again most likely it'll be a permanent assignment without you being given any choice.
@Chip Yup, I got that. By the way, I raised a request for a static IP, and they also assigned one, but no one came for configuration. On their side, they have noted that I have a static IP. I've been trying to contact them for one week, but they don't understand my problem. I've mentioned that every time I restart my router, I get a different IP address. I don't know what to do, they are still charging me for a static IP which I don't have.
@Protector Yes, I contacted them. They are just giving me dates, no one is visiting. I got the engineer's number, and I tried contacting him, but he said there was no ticket raised with my name. Yesterday, I contacted customer care again, and they raised the wrong request for frequent disconnections, which is still open. They have not closed it yet, so they can't assign an engineer for configuration. This whole thing is messed up.
