Theoretically, CDMA comes under 2G :Boy Think: , but yes as to common understaning and usage its different from what is referred here, i.e. 2G means GSM and yes you would need a different device for 3G
I thought CDMA had their own terminology? CDMA1000 and CDMA2x something? Also from what I understand CDMA on its own is capable of around 12mbps speeds. So, it can technically still compete with 3G.
I am also not sure... But I believe, 2G has both GSM and CDMA. And while GSM with data goes towards GPRS/EDGE as 2.5G etc. CDMA goes to CDMA 1x, EVDO etc what you are referring to..
Is it then worth upgrading still got nearly 3500 balance ?
Dont understand all this .
Just 2 years back I bought this photon plus to use with my notebook
stay with EVDO , if ur connection is okay
3G is not a better choice as of now , they are expensive wireless options
PS : tata photon comes under CMDA - EVDO
My personal experience of using 2 years - Tata Photon may have less speed compared to 3G (Docomo), but its stable. Besides I believe CDMA has good penetration, so we can get signal in every room.
Photon is CDMA (its not 2G or 3G as it is used for GSM).
