It’s honestly baffling at this point.
We’re halfway through the decade, the world is moving on with IPv6 adoption, and yet Hathway seems to be living in some kind of pre-2010 limbo where IPv4 is still enough. Spoiler alert: it’s not.
Every serious ISP in its right mind has at least begun to switch over. Jio, Tata Play Fiber and Airtel have native IPv6 out of the box. And even BSNL (yes, the once-maligned BSNL!) has improved IPv6 availability in some areas. And what about Hathway? Absolutely nothing. No plan. No explanation. No native integration. Zilch.
Is there any kind of technical constraint that's keeping them from doing so? Or are they simply too comfortable because there is no market pressure from the typical consumer? Either way, it's a terrible impression.
I'd love to get some feedback from others—are you noticing any IPv6 activity on Hathway in your area? Or is this a nationwide dry spell?
