Jio has 5G everywhere, but doesn’t have the backbone capacity to support it.

Jio 5G is just "naam ka 5G" now. I tried using it for a month and it just chokes up in crowded areas which honestly is an inconvenience for me. This was the only reason I kept using Airtel 5G even though their postpaid plan prices are very high compared to Jio. Airtel 5G never disappointed me, even in crowded areas it just works fine most of the time. I am able to make UPI payments, stream content and make audio calls without any fuss 99% of the time although I have been facing a lot of call drops with Airtel recently.
I think we should not be surprised with this kind of performance from Jio, it has always been like that. They heavily market their products with "unlimited data" and "free trial" but when it comes to core performance, it just disappoints. I had poor experience with both their wired broadband and wireless cellular connection. I have always felt that although Airtel copies Jio, they do it the right way somehow.

@87056 Jio's unlimited 5G but it gets choked at so many places Vs Airtel's 300GB which seems to work a lot better (haven't tried it yet but looks interesting)

then there is Vi 5G which can't cross 300Mbps even if tower has barely any load

Don't know what's happening here. Internet doesn't work at home. But 350mbps+ on terrace.

Any idea on how to reach proper support Jio support? It's on one of the most developed areas on Gurgaon

Lol I just saw my own post about trying out Airtel 5G

It was a horrible experience since where I live ,airtel was extremely congested and the whole thing was so bad that Airtel 5G never gave more than 50mbps (during day time) and Airtel 4G had very poor experience as well

That was in April 2025 and by July 2025 I had switched back to Vi again
