Some Jio person came by with an offer to change the router for free.
I have the 'White router' which I've been using since the introductory offer was launched in this area. Details below:
Model: JCO500
Firmware: FXCTF1_JCO500_R3.13

He said Jio will even refund my security deposit for it. It all seems too good to be true for a new router. Whats the catch here? Does the new router throttle torrents harder? Does it mine my data even better?

Second thing. Over the past few weeks, I've been experiencing some disconnect issues. This is most apparent during online gaming, but even otherwise it is noticeable. From what I can tell the router doesn't noticeably lose connection, but it happens on the connected devices. Any solution to this?

Update: I confirmed, upgrading the router requires them to make a new account. Which means your existing recharge(prepaid connection) will be void. So yeah, no upgrade for a while. Jury is still out on my connection issue though.

Exactly QoS thing, saturating full bandwidth does still cause higher loaded latency, staying under it doesn't. While I was with railwire I would just get 1 - 2 ms more when fully saturating the connection, it didn't use to 2x or 3x.
