JioFiber in my city soon (approx 1.5 months). Should I leave BSNL FTTH and take Jio?

The only problem I have with bsnl is that for the past year, I got nearly 30 disconnections, either by fiber break (about 10) or some problem on their end.

Will it be any different in Jio?

Will I be able to put the Jio in bridge mode?

This is mostly for my parents.

If you can wait for Airtel then it's relatively better viz a viz Jio.

Go for it. (assuming their consumption is limited to mobile devices, smart TV, CCTV, etc. and their usage won't be affected by CGNAT)

Would not recommend, if Airtel goes for LCO model in your city. There will be multiple issues initially !!!
 
People have been trying to figure out the bridge mode for 2 years and no one has managed to get it to work.

Jio's wifi router/modem is a mess. You can barely even use your DNS. Any custom config(apart from chosing your SSID name) is next to impossible.

Then there are privacy concerns with using Jio as an ISP.

I would suggest waiting for Airtel, if you're sure they will come to your area.
 
I have been using BSNL FTTH for over 5-6 months had like 3-4 times temporary internet outtage.. I especially think BSNL FTTH service qulaity mainly depends on the area.. I have a nice connection and customer service and I cannot guarantee it for other areas as I have heard bad reviews about BSNL from their end..

And I have heard that JioFiber is very good based on the reviews from people who have it. I do not know about the details, but if the price is less and if there's quality service, then definitely go for it! (y)

Is JioFiber available now? Also how did you found out they'll be in your area in 1.5 months? Is there any way to confirm it? Did you asked their network team? Because it's about September.
 
@havoc I found out because I was talking to them when I notice their post in my city. They would give me update and I would drive and check haha. Yes, it is available the day I made the other post.
 
@havoc try getting area manager's no of your city they are the ones who are responsible for service feasibility they can tell you when its gonna be available in your area 'contact jio sales guy they generally have contact info of managers also they have some sort of app which shows where service is gonna available and stuff

One more thing to say guys :
BSNL OLT is about 600-1000 meters away and I get signal strength of -12dbi
Does this mean anything?
