JioFiber packet routing issues

I'm having a weird issue with JioFiber while accessing sites/servers hosted in the US.
When I do a speediest on different websites, it looks good.

But when I do a tracert to a website that is in the US, it takes a lot of time to load and I see a lot of "*" during the trace.
It looks like the way packets are travelling on JioFiber is different. I don't see any issues with Airtel BB/3G/4G.

Can someone help me out?

JioFiber used CGNAT for it's ipv4 network design. So your home network basically sits behinf two NAT firewalls (1- router and 2- ISP). You don't have a public ip address and this really messes up the routing. See this wikipedia article.

The * in traceroute means that hop isn't accepting ICMP (Ping) packets. It doesn't mean that server is blocked or slow. Most likely these are private IP Addresses of Jio.

@JB701 Yup. Because of the CGNAT configuration, the packets go through a lot of internal jio servers to finally go their destination.
You could try increasing the number of hops in the tracert command.

Terrible experience with JioFiber today.

After doing my basic troubleshooting (reset router, on/off, running the MyJio app diagnostics, making sure I've recharged, etc etc) looks like they're having some serious problems. Can't reach reddit, github, primevideo, and a good number of very famous sites I'm sure have servers all across india. tracerting on all these sites shows no luck. Requests times out all day

Good thing I have airtelfiber as backup but man. I can't figure out if this is an issue on my end. Since I don't see posts about it anywhere, just wanted to drop this here to see if anyone can provide enlightenment to this young lost soul.

@SneakySneaks I had a similar experience a few days ago. I mainly had issues with sites having only most IPv4 servers. It fixed on its own after like three hours.

@SneakySneaks Today faced this issue with space dot com.

@ritwik2000 For some time, I had issue accessing some sites and apps too. Did cloudping.info test at that time and many servers were showing timed out.

Still randomly these servers stop working.
