First of all, Ive only said what their primary goal is. What excites
Apple and its employees. Its the quest to make a great product. Is anyone denying that? Do you see apple pushing out 100s of products every year? They can (with all that cash in bank, they sure can) but they dont. Its pretty apparent that they focus on only a few products which they think is great.
Now ofcourse as a publicly traded company apple has to make money and as much as they possibly can. But does that invalidate Ive's statement that apple's goal first of all is to make great products? I'm not sure why that'd confuse anyone. He even added that if the product is good, revenue will follow. So the end result is still money but its not the goal. Wheres the confusion?
I am not sure you have read about the conditions under which folks in china make these stuff . I am not saying other companies are good either. But someone who talks so much about delivering a good product & whose "goal absolutely at Apple is not to make money" , for sure they are not doing anything to fix that. In fact they are turning a blind eye & I would not take the "They did not know" nonsense.
Seriously, how can you even say something like that today? First of all, every god damn company is using not just china as their manufacturer but most of the big ones use foxconn itself. Just coz apple became the most successful company using foxconn as a manufacturing partner, they got the spotlight. But anyone with access to google.com would tell you how wrong is that. Which electronic company isnt using cheap chinese labour? Foxconn is one of the best companies (in terms of wages and other privileges) for chinese workers today. And to top it all, apple has been doing a lot to improve condition there. They don need to, but still they are. This though might be coz of all the dumb media backlash over chinese labour condition but still apple didnt need to do anything here. They have a contract with foxconn and arent responsible for how foxconn works. Its foxconn and chinese govt's responsibility.
Why they chose foxconn instead of doing it in US is simple economics and logistics. Nowhere else would you find such a huge workforce, let alone at anywhere near these prices. Everyone uses china, so did apple. Now apple does a heck lot more than everyone else to improve conditions there and still you make ignorant comments like this for some reason. I don get it.
Bar notifications was an awesome feature innovated by Apple... Right?
I asked the same question to another Apple Fanboy, who was giving similar fancy statements prior to that, never returned to comment on that thread after that. Seems to be working like a charm
Now I seriously need a 15 minute break so I can laugh out loud!
I just noticed that last time I logged in here I had an argument about apple and decided to see if by any chance that "Apple Fanboy" me. JESUS FREAKIN CHRIST!! It was me!
I'm speechless right now. How can one be such clueless and ignorant is besides me. First of all, I dont spend hours on this forum everyday. Sometimes its weeks before I log back in here. Its just not a site which I frequently visit (though I still like the place as this is one of the only good online Indian community I've found so far). So, just coz I forgot to check back this thread, you were living under the impression that you managed to shut up an "Apple Fanboy" with something as dumb as notification bar??? Lmfao.
Now about the notification bar. Lets start at the similarities. You swipe downward from the top bezel to bring up the notif bar. And......... Thats about it. I had an
android phone for a few months and comparing the notification bar in that one with the one in
iPad is just silly. Both are competely different. Unless ofcourse you could somehow prove that the notifications are something which
google invented. They dont look similar. They dont have the same features (android one is much more than just a notification bar, which is something I prefer over plain iOS one). Android and
samsung can copy everything from
iPhone and its all mute now coz apple copied a gesture? Jfyi, bezel gestures arent something which google invented either. Palm pre (or whatever it was called) had those and it went even a step further by making the bezel touch sensitive (another thing I'd love to see in iDevices btw).
About the court cases, I dont like them any more than you do but apple did bring something revolutionary to the market and who am I to judge them if they want to stop others who got "inspiration" from their products. If they are right, they will win in the court. If not, they'll lose. It simply doesnt affect me either way.
Oh and about the "slide to unlock" thing, I assume you ar talking about that neonode phone? If you are, pease read the slide to unlock patent agan and then watch the neonode's unlocking video. You'll realise how far from truth you are.
