Since I'm a delusional moron, could you please help me find the patent which says "A rectangular phone" or "A slider"? May be its my idiocy but I just couldn't find any stupid patent like the one you claimed.. Oh and when you find it, please spend a bit more time and give it a whole read. Thanks!kickass said:i m amazed ppl r actually defending such ridiculous patents !! a rectangular phone, a slider etc. This is a complete abuse of the patent system. patents shud only be granted for actual R&D or innovations. this is retarded shit. a patent for a rectangle phone ?? seriously WTF !!! wat do they expect ppl to do ?? make triangular phones?
any1 who actually is defending such patents is a delusional moron. you can argue all u want but it doesn't change the fact that Apple is abusing the patent system by patenting utter crapshit.
mhsabir said:@IMNS - As I was telling Hardik7, some people just cant take sarcasm seriously, I as very well aware that you probably did not see my response. And I very well know that Apple Fanboys cannot simply sit quiet.
No offence, I don't think you understand the meaning of sarcasm. Look it up again please. Google is your friend....
Who's feeding you this nonsense? No one at apple would (or does) say apple is a philanthropic company. If anything, up until Steve Jobs death apple was something you could easily claim as anti-philanthropic. Please stop making baseless assumptions.Everybody uses chinese shit & we all know it, but what I find wrong with Apple is that they speak as if they are so philanthropic, they do not have profits as a priority & all that nonsense.
Apple doesn't claim to do good with people. They only say that their approach is to make the best products possible. How does that even make apple sound like philanthropical is something beyond me.
And yes, profits isn't a priority at apple. At this point of time you'd think that's a load of BS coz first, they are making billions every quarter, and second, even if they make profits a non-priority now, it won't matter coz they don't really need to make money for years thanks to their huge bank balance. But that's not the case. When Jobs came back to apple in the late 90s apple was all but bankrupt. A couple more bad years and apple might have had to close shop even. Even at that point of time Steve had his focus on making great products than making money. That's what Jobs taught apple. Make great products and everything else will follow. Not sure why you guys are finding it that hard to believe. Think those misconceptions about apple claiming itself as philanthropic are to blame? Coz otherwise everything else makes sense to me.
I don't know what's up with these misconceptions. Employing children under 14 is illegal. Do you think what's happening in foxconn factories is illegal? Why are you comparing it to something illegal then? Which part of foxconn's operation is illegal which you want apple to stick its neck in?Take an example, I am asking you, if you gave a work contract & if you found that children under 14 are being employed to do hard labour? What would you do? Would you say - Not my problem? I did not ask them to? Even if you are making lots of profit? No, on the contrary I would make sure that the contract is cancelled or modified to make sure children are not employed for the task.
Foxconn employs 100s of 1000s of workers. Did someone force all those workers to work in foxconn? Fact is, working in Foxconn pays better than most other opportunities these people have. And from what I've learned from various news reports, most of them work only for a few years, collect enough money to get started with some land for farming (or something else) and leave Foxconn. They even want to work overtime so they can earn more money quickly and go on their way sooner. No one forces them for overtime. I can understand people living in developed countries not understanding why these people work the long hours for such little pay. But you yourself live in a similar developing country. Do you not know how hard it is to make a living here? Lemme assure you if Indian labour had an option to work for Foxconn (ie the same pay and work conditions), a huge majority of them would be willing coz it's a hell lot better than their current jobs. Work condition in a lot of Chinese industries/sectors is really bad but Foxconn isn't one of them. Please educate yourself about the issue first before a point out of it. I know it's not all roses and pink but it's still a lot better than your average Chinese/Indian factory.
Again, you made that part up about apple claiming to be philanthropic. Or making products "only" through innovation and no inspiration from outside world. What you assume is your problem, not apple's, to solve. All I am saying to Apple & its folks is - stop pretending about delivering products only through innovation , we only care about people not profit etc nonsense.
Or maybe it's the fact that you don't know what sarcasm is and have been using it incorrectly as you did here?I have learnt long ago that sarcasm is usually wasted on Apple Fanboys
It's their goal to make the best and most perfect products possible. No one at apple claims they are always and 100% successful or whatever product they created can't be improved upon. Once again your problem with apple is your assumption and misinterpretation instead of it being a real problem. And I remember reading about releasing only after things are perfect, if that was so, why are patches & updates (not cosmetic) are even released by them.
I assume you meant "just give up" here? In which case, please feel free to let me know if I misread or misunderstood something. Why do you think that would get you banned? You don't need to say "that's not what I meant a**hole". Everything can be discussed in a civilised manner (the opposite is true too of course). After 6 years of staying the forum, I dont want to get banned now for the 1st time, so I will just just up on the language comprehension part.
6 years and 5000 posts, hmm, do you not know how forum quotes and replies work? Or did I have it wrong all this while? Here's my understanding of it. When you reply to someone specifically in a thread, you either address them or quote their post and write your response below the quote. Some people post their response first and then quote the post below it. Which is also acceptable if not the correct way to do it, as long as your post ends after that quote. If you don't quote anyone, it's assumed to be a response to the OP or the general discussion in the thread. It is pointless to re-quote the OP everytime someone responds to it (unless you are only responding to a specific part of OP). Not sure why you assumed the part of my post ABOVE your quote was a response to you. First part was my response to your quote is exactly (IMO) where it should be, ie below the quote. Lemme know if I had been doing it wrong all this while...But, you are quoting a paragraph, in which I have listed concerns of them claiming to be a company which has "ONLY" good intent for people & if they happen to make money thats good. Well, they are making TONS of MONEY, but I still feel they can do more in terms of making sure people who work at such factories are helped as much as possible. Other companies are equally bad or worse. But, atleast they dont go around making such sweet sounding noises. Now I dont know why you have replied saying no compromising on design to my THAT concern by quoting THAT
Again, they don't claim to be the best. They claim their goal is to make the best products instead of making something which they don't think is great (hence the iPad instead of a touchscreen MacBook). And if you think your product is the best, would you not also believe rest are not as good (otherwise your belief of having the best product would be contradicted by your own beliefs... Beliefception!) ? And where did they claim each and every smartphone is an imitation (let alone cheap imitation)? Please stop making assumptions and presenting them Astarte and reason for apple hate. Now, coming to no compromise to design part - I am not saying they make horrible products, I am not saying they make the best products, they are making decent products, which many people are liking - fair enough. Even I would consider buying an Apple product. But, the compromise on design part - According to me, they are selling the "illusion" that its a wonderful product & the best that is possible , and that EVERYTHING ELSE is a cheap imitation & a not worthy of existence.
So are you trying to tell me that my 6 year long experience with iBook & MacBook and the time I spent with the 2G iPhone and the iPad was an illusion? When I thought these were working great for me was not real? Are you claiming I'm a brain dead zombie who doesn't even know if something is working for him and if it was worth his (hard earned mind you) money? No one thinks any product is perfect. Everyone has different needs and whatever fulfils most of them is as good as perfect for them. If I had never used a mac, windows XP would be the the best OS for me. If there was no win7, win XP would still be the best OS out there and still neither are perfect nor would anyone say so even if they were the best options at the time in their own opinion. Again you're making up the assumption that apple users think their product is perfect. Its the best product which they thought they could buy with their budget. Who are you to tell them they are idiots? Do you think all these people are living in a vacuum where they don't even know there are cheaper products available out there? Do you think all of them are dumb enough to just shell out for every apple product without even thinking about the alternatives? Who do you really think these people are who pay for apple products? People with the mind of a 6 year old? Who somehow managed to make enough money in this cut-throat world to pay extra for an apple device? Also, according to me they are overcharging and making insane profits, whereas they are neither making them more labour friendly, neither consumer friendly by pricing it fairly. You might be a buying a good product, but they are making you pay more for an illusion of a perfect product.
Please stop judging other people. Or atleast stop judging them based on their tech choice. As much as you'd like to believe "Apple Fanboys" and "Apple Sheep" are brain dead, it's far from the truth. I like apple products and I still believe a mac is way better than windows (that might change with win8 though) and iOS was way better than android up until ICS and jelly bean. But I have never said or believed that people buying non-apple products are delusional. They have different needs and as long as they knew about their options, they are as smart as me and you. To claim that someone fell for some (life long) illusion because of which they keep buying products from a same company is the most delusional comment IMO. But that's just my opinion. Maybe you actually are a psychic and know for real that millions of people (including yours truly) are delusional? In which case, my apologies for wasting your time which could have been better used solving world peace and hunger and other major issues using you exceptional capabilities!
And Btw, a huge freakin thank you for the aircel 3GS deal heads up. I was looking for a cheap android phone but nothing worse than Galaxy Nexus was getting me interested and even that was quite a but more than I'm comfortable spending on a phone. But atleast it had jellybea. Even then I had to wait for someone to make a trip to US to pick one up for me. And it won't even have local warranty. 13k for new 3GS (especially with that free 3G data deal!) is a really good value for money IMO. Gonna confirm a few things first though (an "Apple Fanboy" who isnt going to just blindly buy an apple product?!?!? Blasphemy! Right? What has the world come to....). Thanks Again
