When we dream, our minds process memories to form new combinations of images and ideas. Can a concert hall do the same?
Best known for transforming architectural spaces and façades into canvases for live media arts, artist Refik Anadol sets out to design a creative, computerized “mind” that can dream in his latest work for LA Phil: WDCH Dreams.
WDCH Dreams is designed for the exterior of Walt Disney Concert Hall, and uses audio and video generative learning models to interpret nearly 45 terabytes of data from LA Phil’s digital archives.
