After trying out whats in post #10 if it works great but if not then try -> Another point which which came to my mind is, there is a slight mismatch ni the drivers (maybe outdated). Try updating the drivers for your wifi card in the laptop if that helps, good next would be to update the firmware in the modem/router I know it sounds crazy but I had the experience when I had to setup my cousin's Linksys WRT 120N. (How to configure Linksys WRT 120N wireless router)It so happened that the wifi card in his laptop was not compatible with the firmware of his router its only when I updated the firmware of his router , could that particular could connect to the net. That was a clear cut case but it could also happen that its not fully compatible & starts acting up after some time.
BTW. Use b/g/n only if you have a mix of gadgets which require those, if all your devices are on 'N' then keep it at 'N'
Hi all,
I noticed that I am not able to connect to wifi on my Sony vaio laptop whereas other laptops and mobiles could connect to my wifi. This was the first time i was trying to connect to wifi using sony vaio. Also when i set the wifi on the laptop ON, it seems to detect wifi connections in the vicinity but not mine.
Also, how do I get the "drivers of my wifi card" updated, if that could be a possible issue..
not much of a tech gal !!
Looking forward to your suggestions - Thanks for your help in advance.
