Also there is refund clause so if you have will to fight and know right place to approach them you can get refund. (This clause is there in franchise kind of arrangement which lco signed with ISP)

From the LCO’s point of view, I understand that I’m considered an inactive customer. However, I do not agree with the condition of recharging for a minimum of 3 or 6 months because of my previous bad experience.

Earlier, I tried using BSNL through the same LCO, but it took almost 2–3 weeks just to set up bridge mode. After that, I was only able to use the connection properly for about one month. Later, almost every morning, there would be no internet connection.

The LCO was always eager to promote Kerala Vision, probably because they provide a higher commission compared to other ISPs. I also tried RailWire through him, but there was a strange issue with the connection. Even though I reported the issue to him multiple times, he ignored it and never took it seriously. However, when I directly contacted the technical head of RailWire, they acknowledged the issue and fixed it.

Another major problem is that whenever there is an optical signal loss or any other issue, he rarely responds to my messages or calls.

There was also an instance when I asked to switch from one ISP to another, and he warned me by saying that I had already switched too many times. But the important point is that every time I switched ISPs, I always made the payment in advance, even before he completed the VLAN tagging or activation process.

Another frustrating thing is that many LCOs here seem unaware that their OLTs support multi-vendor ONU/ONT devices. For example, if they use a Netlink OLT, they assume it will only work with Netlink ONUs. In reality, many of these setups support other compatible ONUs as well. Whenever the LCO provided their ONU/ONT, I usually bypassed it and cloned the configuration into my Huawei ONU instead.

@Sanemi I'm on your side. When LCO's get too many customers, they tend to kick those who helped them initially. Meanwhile consumers seem to take LCO's & Big telco sides. Just disconnect both connections and get some other provider if possible. If not then you don't have any option. If there isn't a clear policy regarding inactivity disconnection then I don't think it should be forcefully enforced. I don't know both of your ISP's but do you have anything in written from them about inactivity disconnection or something?

Both ISPs I used were completely prepaid, and when I signed up there weren’t any clear rules or transparent policies explained to me. The providers were Xtranet (AS133301) and Railwire (AS24186).

I had already stopped using Railwire earlier because of their weak infrastructure, limited bandwidth availability for Kerala subscribers (which was also acknowledged by Railwire CNOC), along with a few other internal issues.

At this point, I’d rather continue with Xtranet since I still have some internal contacts there.

Anyway, I’ve already moved on from that LCO.

Some people will understand this situation especially if you’ve ever had to deal with unreliable LCO management or poor network support yourself.

I appreciate @unnecessary for the support.

Btw ONU/ONT binding takes almost 24 hours.

Yeah you've done good getting away from that poor guy. He'll eventually get his karma back. This 24 hour binding is stupidly slow, even after paying for multi month plan. Clear negligence from their part. Railwire is just burning taxpayers money, the only telco I see working in India in a neutral way is Tata Communications. Rest all are intentionally flawed in one way or another.

Always remember LCOs, telcos and business exist because of the customers, no matter what. If a consumer is willing to stay yet they don't treat you right, you shouldn't ever care about them. Show them by hitting in their weakest point + spread your word to other users as well, give them a taste of consumerism 😁.
