hi friend..i am using LG GT540 Optimus, any one can tell me how to upgrade the OS? (1.6 to 2.2)

You cannot unless LG releases it officially.. unless you do something illegal.. search Google since I find it impolite to discuss about it here..

Upgrading the OS on your Android phone is not illegal. You probably lose your warranty. The phone might end up dead. But it is not illegal.

no again. even jailbreaking the iPhone is not illegal. EVEN IN USA.

providing jailbreaking tools is somewhat illegal in usa. but if you do it yourself, you have complete rights over it.

in india? i do not think there are any such laws.

the basic idea is. you bought your hardware, you have the right to do whatever you want to do with it. as long as you are not stealing any intellectual property!

and since android is mmm somewhat open source. third party builds can be installed on your device without breaking the law.

of course, you lose your warranty with rooting and jailbreaking and any custom ROM installation.
