LG refrigerator part replacement - SCAM?

This turned out to be a genuine call back from LG. I called Customer care, they were unable to share much info, however they said a call has been booked by backed. They shared the number of local service center. When i contacted , the person mentioned that for a particular model there is an issue . They have been replacing the part. However its up to customer to give consent and they are not forcing the part replacement.

Once confirmed by customer a SMS with code will be sent directly from LG and this is how you can be sure that its genuine. This has to be shared with service repairman once replacement is done

This replacement is also done for out of warranty products.

All done on discreet level to avoid rumours. LG is largest seller of refrigerator in India imo, known for their service. Atleast they're rectifying it.
Other like samsung whose Exynos series is known for issues doesn't even admit.

Do update what part is replaced. I bought a LG refrigerator few months back so I am bit worried.
